Thanks for this interesting post. This woman you mention is not at all a réflection of what French feminism is. Actually almost no feminist activist in France agrees with her, and to me she is the incarnation of anti-feminism. I wish she didn’t get all that media attention and we heard more the many women who really fight for women rights.
It’s true that I have met and written about a lot of amazing feminists since I have been in France. Most of them are from a younger generation. But what is most interesting to me is how many women refuse to call themselves feminists. Perhaps that is generational too?
Maybe there is a bit of that, it’s true. But this woman is my age and she thinks like Catherine Deneuve lol. Anyways. I am a bit bitter cause she gets so much credit for such poor thinking.
